Patterns of failure after radical prostatectomy in prostate cancer – implications for radiation therapy planning after 68Ga-PSMA-PET imaging: Beyond the Abstract
Whether these sites are only typical after prostatectomy due to changed lymph drainage routes or if there might even be the possibility to draw conclusions in respect to recommended lymph nodes to be removed during lymphadenectomy remains to be seen.
Either way, we were able to confirm that 68Ga-PSMA-PET imaging is a highly sensitive diagnostic modality and has great impact on treatment planning. Additionally, we were able to show that almost 60% of our patients were diagnosed with recurrence in “untypical” lymph node sites.
These sites should be kept in mind no matter what treatment modality comes into play after prostatectomy.
