AUA 2011 - Muscle-invasive bladder cancer in the elderly - Session Highlights

WASHINGTON, DC USA (UroToday.com) - The authors evaluated 118 patients over the age of 75 with muscle invasive bladder cancer. 63 underwent cystectomy.

On multivariate analyses, patients who underwent radical cystectomy had improved overall survival compared to patients who received other therapies even after controlling for co-morbidities. The authors suggest that more aggressive use of cystectomy in men over the age of 75 with muscle invasive bladder cancer.
