CHICAGO, IL USA (UroToday) - This U.S. study looked at the associated expense of UDS testing during a basic office evaluation.
In the ValUE trial, 11 sites were involved and 630 women were randomized either for an office evaluation only or for an office evaluation plus UDS.
Overall, the group concluded these women with uncomplicated, predominant SUI undergoing surgery for incontinence and receiving a preoperative UDS showed no additional benefit in terms of surgical outcome.
The cost of UDS in under these conditions could not be justified.
