inder perkashDr. Inder Perkash recently retired as a director of spinal cord injury service at VA Palo Alto after 38 years of service, and having started the program He is also retired as a professor of urology and PVA professor spinal cord injury medicine at Stanford University. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and Edinburgh, Fellow of the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery, and Fellow of the American Academy of PM&R and Spinal Cord Injuries.

He has published extensively in over 300 refereed journals and has authored chapters in 58 text books. He has received several academic and other prestigious awards, including the Physician of the Year, State of California (1988) and US Republican Presidential Role of Honor in 2005. Currently he was also recalled as a Professor of Medicine, emeritus (GI) for his special expertise in neurogenic bowel.
