AUA 2011 - Review of 1103 inflatable penile prosthetic surgeries performed in 2009 demonstrates almost complete variability for irrigation and antibiotic practice amongst eleven high-volume reconstructive surgeons - Session Highlights

WASHINGTON, DC USA (UroToday.com) - Authors noted a 1% infection rate in first line IPP placement and a 3.8% in revisions. Of the 11 surgeons, only 2 shared the same irrigating protocol. There was no relationship between the irrigation rate and incidence of infections.
