Peyronie's disease may be idiopatic or secondary to sexual intercourse.
Medical treatment includes vitamin E, colchicine and tamoxifen, which provide a very limited solution. Lately, intralesional injection of verapamil and other substances have achieved a reasonable effect. The best cosmetic result is achieved by surgery which is recommended at least a year after onset of the problem. Surgery may result in penile shortening.
