Extended total mesorectal excision (ETME) which is indicated in locally advanced rectal cancer (T4 tumor) defines the en bloc oncologic resection of the rectal tumor and its surrounding tissues invaded with cancer [1]. Recent developments and increasing experience in laparoscopy have expanded its indications. [2]. T4 tumors, in which laparoscopic surgery was once accepted as a relative contraindication, now can be treated with laparoscopic techniques effectively. We present a case of locally advanced rectal cancer in which we performed laparoscopic ETME (L- ETME) (Video). This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved.
