AUA 2016: Analysis of UTI resolution and sediment formation on intravesical balloon for the treatment of SUI from two multi center randomized controlled studies - Session Highlights

San Diego, CA USA (UroToday.com) Karny Jacoby next presented a summation of data from two studies, focusing on encrustation of the balloon device. 

In the first study, of 482/ 537 balloons from 159 patient had no deposits, with only In the other study 101 out of 105 balloons had no deposits.  

Overall, these two studies show that the intravesical balloon device is promising and deserves further study in non-industry funded trials.
